Eating 3,000 calories a day will give the average person a 500 to 1,000 calorie surplus, which is more than enough for building muscle. In fact, if you are slightly built, have a slow metabolism, or gain fat easily, 3,000 may be too much, and you could end up gaining unwanted body fat.

Calories eaten - calories burned (from exercise and being alive) = results. If results are positive you will gain weight at the rate of 1 lb for every 3500 calories. If results are negative you will lose weight at the rate of 1 lb every 3500 calories. If results are 0 you stay the same weight. I think you aren’t considering the calories
